minute minding

Saturday February 9, 2013

Just a minute....

My mom used to say that... come to think of it, maybe that was me. Now with a child of my own, I really understand the meaning of that. Yes, I'll be right there.....

At 6:59 PM the International Space Station went 'flying' by our house. Out in space. I bearly caught a glimpse of it since it moves quite fast. I think it was visible for just a minute at the most.
Yeah, looks like a bright star.Pretty cool though.

Minutes become hours... or at least that's the case with my son. But really mom, I was only playing on my iPod for 15 minutes. I wondered why he set his alarm clock 2 hours early.... that's one way of having a grumpy mommybear. Oh sorry sweetie, I really thought you'd like an onion sandwich for lunch.....

My brother has this fun habit of saying he'll be somewhere in 15 minutes... and shows up at least an hour later. Unlike the time he invited us for lunch, and we showed up on time. He came to the door, in his PJ's, wondering why we had arrived 2 hours early. It was spring. Daylight Savings time. He had turned his clocks an hour back.

So I guess it's time to do an update on my stitching. I almost set a world record for completing Mill Hill kits in one day...

First I finished this one...

then all the snow inspired me to stitch this one...

I started a third one...

 I finished it today.
Last night at 15 minutes before midnight,
I realized that I would not be able to complete it that day.
And then the Benedryl kicked in.
Big time.

Boy did I sleep well last night.

Tonight I have to take a stronger antihistamine... but that's another story...

I'm somewhat following a theme-along
challenge I found on the WWFC blog
... but that's another story :)

I think it's difficult to keep track of time, no matter your age. As we get older, we just become more aware of it.

Lovely stitching, by the way.

An onion sandwich, you say, eh? :D

You're such a nice mom. I usually just give mine the onion with no bread. :-)

Very pretty stitching!

I often tell myself I'll only spend 15 minutes reading my book.. and two hours later I realise my 15 minutes are up.

Don't we all know these 15 minutes that take an hour or two to come to an end? Lol. Happens often to me when I stitch or read before going to sleep.
Your three finishes are just darling. I love the heart with the beads all around. So creatively finished.

I had to laugh when I read the 'one minute' thing--as I had finished telling my cat--I will be done here in one minute!!!!!!
